Camp Quest 2020 Testimonials

“In 2016 my brother Michael and I had the opportunity to be part of Camp Quest for the first time. We highly appreciate that very first invitation from pastor Gerald Broome. I can only remember beautiful experiences in those seven days of camp. I could experience the presence of the Lord in every worship time, what [how] special [it] was to see the campers having an encounter with the Lord and listening to those testimonies afterwards. In 2017 and 2018 I had also the honor to attend for two more times. The experience was even better in all areas, the success from day one to the last is because of the Lord and to the leadership behind all the staff members and counselors who are the representation of the great leadership of pastor and ministry president Gerald Broome. He has a passion to serve and to bring the youth closer to Jesus, so they can have a personal relationship with Him. It has been such a blessing to my life to be involved in a ministry that is highly passionate about encouraging and equipping youths for a growing spiritual life. I have been personally encourageed to refuse myself to stay in ankle-deep waters and to go deeper to experiment the supernatural.”

“CampQuest is a highlight of my summer. It’s the place I feel most free to worship! Every year it gets better and better. The staff and JC’s are always amazing, especially Gerald. He puts so much into making Camp every kids’ favorite place. The year (2020) will be my sixth year at camp. I keep coming back because of how much I grow in my relationship with God and the amazing things that happen.”

“I have been going to Camp ground for a long time now. It’s always an amazing experience. I feel closest to God while I’m here (CampQuest) and really want to focus on learning how to take that same feeling with me everwhere I go. I’m ready to have some fun and learn more about the Lord this year. I cannot wait to meet all the kids and help instill the Word of God into them. “
Aidan Lapinsky, Monroe, NC. CQ Alumni. A high school junior plans to pursue certificate in Business at SPCC during his senior year.2020 JC..
“The Presence of God is so Strong there. I remember each time as I approached the campground, I would immediately start to cry. My sons, nephews and nieces were changed by the power of God @ Camp Quest. Gerald, you were the father that they didn”t have. The counselors were friends of mine from WCBI, and they loved, loved, loved on Rasheed and Qasim. Tremendous blessing you all were to our family. We still talk about it to this day. What an impartation of God’s love.”
Delia Peterson, Knoxville, TN; Army Vet., Former LPN, Mission Trip Enthusiast, Former CQ Staffer:
“What CQ means to me. Life Change! Not only in the campers but also in myself. Seeing the campers come into the cafeteria from day 1-day7, I see changes in their appearance, how they are talking with each other about what they are learning. Where they go and to see the excitement in their faces when they talk about it, and then to see them at the arbor during the services. I see different ones really entering into God’s presence and that excites me to see lives changed and Hungary for God. That’s worth it all to me.”
Patty Steed, Monroe, NC, Group Home Behavior Health Specialist, Prayer Warrior and Kitchen Volunteer.!
“Where to begin? CQ has been an eye opening experience for me to see the way God moves through each and every one of us. Everyone experiences it differently but the fact that we are all gathered together to experience that is truly something different. Even after camp, being more open to worship, [being able to]approach people in public, and being the Christian figure has become a more often occurrence and noticed by others as well.”
Alek Kobzar, Camp Alumni and Jr. Counselor, Finishing his AA degree this year, to pursue business/ marketing degrees. 2020 JC
“Camp Quest is an unforgettable place and it is just amazing to see and experience what God is doing through the people who are there. The presence of God can be seen through so many ways that I have never experienced until I went to camp. People laughing, crying, and even falling in the Spirit. People getting healed in front of our eyes, and just people crying out and worshipping our amazing Father. It’s just amazing to experience how God works through the youth, young adults, and leaders at camp and how so many people get touched and changed by allowing God to enter their hearts.” .
Celine Kobzar, Matthews, NC. HS Junior. CQ Alumni. Celine is 2020 JC.
“I appreciate Camp Quest as it provides teens/tweens an opportunity to develop a personal relationship with the Lord through times of intimate worship, prayer, and a saturation in the Word of God. They [Campers] also learn the joy of serving others through outreach and have the opportunity to develop lifelong friendships with likeminded believers. Quest Ministries provides teens the opportunity to experience the Great Commission of Acts 1:8 as the Holy Spirit empowers them to minster locally [CQ], and in Mexico”
Susan Bowles, Monroe, NC, BS in Medical Technology; Lab Tech w/Atrium. Susan and husband Chris both work at CQ with food prep. Susan heads up our CQ WarRoom and Outreach Activities.
”Camp Quest was like home away from home. So many kind people and kids! Camp Quest was like an escape from all the bad things in life and showed many people to God and what He stands for. CampQuest was and always will be a home to many or a reason for kids like myself with low self-esteem or are afraid to share who they are, and how they don’t need to hide who they are. By that, CampQuest has helped me ‘wake up’ from all my worries and troubles. CampQuest has helped me in so many ways. I can’t even explain. It has helped me come closer to God and His Word. Thank you, CampQuest for ‘waking me up!’”
Tim Gooch, St. Augustine, FL CQ a lumni, 8th Grade.

Because of their faithfulness in leading the CampQuest charge year after year, our family is pursuing Jesus passionately every day! CQ is life changing! Any camper that comes, leaves with a fire to burn for Jesus like never before”
